| IRS to Stop Collection of 3% Federal Excise Tax |

The Internal Revenue Service has announced that it will stop collecting the 3% Federal Excise Tax on long-distance telephone service as of July 31, 2006. This tax was first imposed in 1898 as a luxury tax on wealthy Americans who owned telephones.

| $50,000 in proceeds from the 2005 Ringgold Telephone Company Junior Classic is distributed to local charities |

 Ringgold Telephone Company recently distributed $50,000 in proceeds that were raised at the 2005 Ringgold Telephone Company Junior Classic. Each of the beneficiaries of tournament funds was selected for their dedication towards the betterment of children in Catoosa County. The Cottage, The Family Crisis Center, Four Points, Catoosa County 4-H and the Performance Learning Center were each recipients of $1,000. In addition to these, Communities in Schools and the American Junior Golf Association were each given $5,000, and the Catoosa County Children’s Fund received $10,000. The Evitt Foundation received $25,000. Each of these charities strives to continue on the Ringgold Telephone Company legacy that encourages a high-quality of children’s welfare in Catoosa County.
