To receive the nextv service, it is necessary to have a set-top-box, or decoder device for each television set on which you want to view the nextv service. The set-top-box receives and decodes the digital feed of all channels offered, displaying only those channels and features included in your purchased package.

While the set-top-box allows you to interact with the nextv system, it may not be fully compatible with all consumer electronic devices such as television sets, videocassette recorders, DVD players, stereo systems, home theatre systems, etc.

You may not be able to use special features and functions of your consumer devices, including features that allow you to: view a program on one channel while simultaneously recording a program on another channel; and, use advanced picture generation and display features such as PIP (Picture-in-Picture), channel review and other functions that necessitate channel selection by the consumer device.

Each nextv set-top-box includes a universal remote control. To use the expanded services for nextv, checking email and surfing the web, you may lease/purchase a wireless keyboard. Both the remote control and wireless keyboard automatically interact with the set-top-box. You can also program the set-top-box to operate additional devices like your television, VCR, DVD, PVR, etc. The set-top-box operations manual includes program codes specific to consumer electronics manufacturers and corresponding equipment. Simply follow the directions to set up those codes. Note: while a manufacturer/device code may be listed, it doesn’t guarantee compatibility. This is dependant on the age and make of the device.
